Welcome to Main Street 101. Main Street 101 has been re-imagined to be a completely online, interactive experience designed to walk you through the Main Street 4- Point Approach from start to finish. Utilizing Prezi, a presentation software that uses motion, zoom, and spatial relationships to relay information, the fundamentals of the Main Street Movement have been broken down into a four part series providing the viewer with videos, digital publications and online resources that cover everything from the 10 National Standards to where our offices are located. The educational content for Main Street 101 is provided to you at no charge. It is our hope that as the Office of Downtown Development we are able to provide a common level of understanding for all volunteers, staff, board members and elected officials that come in contact with your local Main Street Program.
All new Main Street Managers and Board Members are required to become Main Street 101 certified. This certification is provided online through the link below. This certification consists of a 50 question exam comprised of True/False and multiple choice questions. All questions asked on the exam are taken directly from the videos available in Main Street 101 and from the New Managers Handbook. A complimentary copy of the New Manager’s Handbook can be accessed above by clicking on Resources -> Publications-> New Managers Handbook.
The cost to become Main Street 101 certified is $50 and will be available at this discounted rate through August 1st. After August 1st the rate will increase to $75 for all participants.
